So, how do you start looking for the right website to make your job search more manageable? According to Alexis Weindenhammer, career adviser in the Adult Career Counseling Center at Oakland University in Michigan, job posting websites with the most traffic attracts job seekers and companies that hire.

But before you dive into your job search, keep in mind that each job site might offer a duplicate job listing, so you need to keep track of which job site you apply to and not duplicate from another website. To ease your search, use the site filter to narrow down your results by refining factors such as zip code, salary range, and job titles. Also, this is a perfect time to get a sense of the current job market by researching skills requirements and other qualifications.

Lastly, beware of pop-up ads that redirect you to different spam sites. If a job website is asking for application fees or social security number, it is a warning sign. Scammers are reeling you in if it is too good to be true, such as, if you are offering a job instantly or with remarkably high pay. If you do get an offer, do your research about the company to be safe.
